What stays on your phone
Where you were reading, your day-by-day reading history, plans, checklists, your profile photo, downloads, recordings and settings stay on this device. We cannot see them. Without an account, your saved lists, your practice days and what you have earned stay here too. Delete the app and they are gone; Profile → Recited → Delete my recitation data removes recordings and history while you keep the app.
Your voice
When you recite, the microphone audio is handled on the device by the speech model inside the app. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. If you turn on Keep my audio, the recordings are stored on this device only.
Your account, if you make one
Tilawah works without an account. If you create one, we store your email address, your name, your role, the date you joined, your practice days, how much you have recited per page, how much you have listened to and your saved lists (list names and verse numbers) on our server at Supabase in Frankfurt (EU), with a random code for each of your phones; your password is stored there in protected form. Emails such as your sign-up code are sent through our email provider Resend. Profile → My account → Delete account removes all of it at once, and also everything the app keeps on this phone, except downloaded recitations and the speech model.
What the app downloads
Recitations and the timing of their words are streamed or downloaded from quran.com and everyayah.com, and the speech model from our own server. Like any website you visit, those services see your internet address. Nothing about you is sent along with the request.
Feedback
Send us feedback sends your message, together with the app version, iOS version, device model and language, to our server, where we keep it, and Resend emails it to us. To stop abuse we keep a scrambled code made from your internet address with it, not the address itself. A message is not linked to your account, so it stays when you delete your account. Your email address is included only if you type it.
No tracking
No adverts, no analytics, no trackers, no data brokers. We never sell data, and your recitations are not used to train anything.
Children
Tilawah has no public profiles, no chat and nothing to buy.
